Woodsford joins Burford Capital and ISS SCAS for a discussion on litigation funding in investor-related cases.

On 24 February 2026, Woodsford CEO Steven Friel participated in an ISS Securities Class Action Services (ISS SCAS) webinar exploring the importance of litigation funding in securities class actions and its role in investor-related cases.

Steven was joined by Michael Sternhell, Director at Burford Capital, and Donald Grunewald, ISS SCAS Director of Litigation Analysis, moderating the discussion.

The conversation considered how litigation funding operates in the context of securities class actions, with perspectives from two leading funders, and addressed practical considerations for investors engaging with these matters. The session provided a detailed look at how litigation funding supports investor participation in complex securities litigation, including practical considerations around how funded actions are structured and what investors should understand when evaluating participation. It also reflected on how funding can support investor stewardship objectives by enabling escalated engagement up to and including litigation, where corporate governance failings and related disclosures have led to losses in shareholder value.
