David McLean was a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins. David has broad experience in complex commercial litigation. His particular areas of focus include securities, professional liability, internal investigations and complex business disputes, both domestic and international, and he has handled numerous commercial, real estate, securities, banking, employment and corporate control litigations. David has tried approximately 20 cases in federal and state courts and in arbitration, for clients in such diverse industries as finance, pharmaceutical, banking, real estate, insurance, retail, oil and gas, healthcare, aerospace, marine manufacturing, construction, defence and leisure services.
David served on the ABA’s Standing Committee on Dispute Resolution and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution section. He is a Co-chair of the Advisory Council of the CPR International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution.

David is co-author of the chapter on arbitration in the treatise Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts (4th edition, 2015).
