The International Legal Finance Association (ILFA) launches today – with Woodsford playing its part.
ILFA, the first- ever international association devoted to the growing commercial legal finance industry, launched today (8th September).
ILFA will be the global voice of the commercial legal finance industry, representing its interests before governmental bodies, international organisations and professional associations and serving as a clearinghouse of relevant information, research and data about the uses and applications of commercial legal finance.
Woodsford, as a founder member of ILFA, has come together with the world’s other leading litigation funders to form the association, and Woodsford’s COO, Jonathan Barnes, sits on ILFA’s management committee.
A key role of ILFA is to establish and promote general principles of best practice for the industry, ensuring that legal finance companies follow the highest standards and processes that clients have a right to expect.
ILFA’s Chairman, Leslie Perrin stated “The commercial legal finance industry is one of the fastest growing finance sectors in the world. The launch of this association is a testament to the commitment our industry is undertaking to provide critical capital to businesses in the most efficient, ethical and professional manner possible.”
Jonathan Barnes added: “Woodsford is both excited and proud to come together with the world’s leading litigation funders as a founder member of ILFA. The industry has matured over the last decade and is now a key partner providing a compelling service for businesses across the globe – and the time is right for an industry association to represent their interests.”
