Muhammad is an Australian qualified lawyer with extensive experience in complex litigation, with a particular focus on class actions and matters involving fraud, misconduct, negligence, and contractual disputes.
At Woodsford, Muhammad plays a pivotal role in the assessment of potential investments and the strategic management of funded litigation and collective redress matters. He is involved in investigating complex claims, particularly within the class action and broader collective redress landscape, and overseeing active cases to ensure positive outcomes.
Before joining Woodsford, Muhammad gained expertise in class action litigation at leading Australian firms, including Phi Finney McDonald and Slater and Gordon. During this time, he gained significant experience litigating complex matters across various Australian jurisdictions, including appearances in the Supreme Courts of Victoria and New South Wales, and the Federal and High Courts of Australia, including their respective appellate divisions.
A core component of his private practice involved representing claimants in large-scale class actions, frequently supported by litigation funding.
Muhammad has a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics and Media & Communications from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Laws from La Trobe University. Muhammad was admitted in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia in 2019.
